LIFTING THE ATMOSPHERE

Philippians 4:8 ESV Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

We all know what it’s like to go into a ‘situation’ or a room, and we can ‘feel’ the atmosphere especially if there’s stress in the room! Or when we go in a house we very often sense if it’s a happy home or not.😊

We only need to see the look on someone’s face, whether it’s happy or miserable, to know what the atmosphere around them will be. Our faces give us away very often.
But what causes a happy or a gloomy face? It’s our thoughts, because our thoughts will direct the way we speak, the way we behave, the way we react to situations.

The words we speak about things will create a negative or a positive atmosphere and it’s why the Holy Spirit tells us to speak words of life that will encourage and build each other up. It’s all too easy to criticise someone and bring them down, to make them feel less than, but that’s not what God calls us to do.

Some people create an atmosphere of love and kindness, an atmosphere of seeing the best in one another, an atmosphere of joy and peace, where others can ‘feel’ the love of God wherever they go. We can all learn to be like that with the Holy Spirit’s help.😊

When we speak God’s words and release their power it helps to lift the atmosphere as well, because His words bring life and health. He tells us to fill our minds with the best not the worst and then we can speak the best out.

Will we always manage it? Well some days we may do better than others because it takes practice and a willingness on our part to want to do it, but let’s be encouraged because it is possible to grow in it.😊

Lord please help us lift the atmosphere, to lift our own spirits and those around us as well.

Have a blessed, happy atmosphere making, weekend.x😊
