John 11:28 NLT … She called Mary aside from the mourners and told her, “The Teacher is here and wants to see you.”
I wonder if you ever had a message saying, ‘The teacher wants to see you!’ If so, your initial reaction might have been one of dread because you thought you had failed a test and expected a stern word.π
Thankfully, Jesus didn’t take offence and saw beyond her grief and pain and told her she would still see God’s glory if she believed. Jesus was on a mission to turn their lives around for good, to give them a future and a hope in their here and now, as well as in the sweet by and by.
Jesus is still the same today. He is saying to each one of us “I want to see you…”. The thing is, are we responding? Jesus is not in the business of condemning us but of forgiving us for our lack of faith or whatever test we think we’re failing in. Do we forget that in Jesus we have been made whole and complete (Colossians 2:10), that God only sees us through the perfection of Jesus? It’s Jesus’ performance that He is looking at, and our complete trust in what He has done for us.π
So as you hear Jesus saying “I want to see you”, know it’s so He can bless you, comfort and help you - just like He did Mary and Martha.π He wants to bring resurrection life into anything that you thought was hopeless or dead. It might be a dream, or it may be your health or finances or family situation.
He is inviting you to come to Him today to find rest for your soul, so He can turn things around for your good in the name of Jesus, for His glory. Amen.
